ONE Northern Beaches Council
The NSW Government announced that Manly, Warringah and Pittwater Councils will merge to form a new Northern Beaches Council which will take effect from 12.30pm today, 12 May 2016.
Manly Council and its entire staff are looking forward to working cooperatively and productively with the other Councils involved in the merger of Manly, Pittwater and Warringah, to ensure an efficient and speedy transition to a new local government body, and to continue serving the community of the whole Northern Beaches.
"Under the stewardship of our new Government-appointed Administrator for the Northern Beaches, Dick Persson, my colleagues Warringah Mayor Michael Regan, Pittwater Deputy Mayor Kylie Ferguson and I will comprise the interim Council until elections are held for a new Council on 9 September 2017," said Mayor Jean Hay AM.
Interim Senior Managers for the new Northern Beaches Council have also been appointed following a rigorous selection process.
The code of meeting practice of the former Manly Council is to be the code of meeting practice of the new Council until it is amended or replaced in accordance with The Act.
Operations of Manly Council remain business as usual and services will continue to be delivered.
