Voluntary Contribution to Bushcare
This unique program is designed to allow residents greater involvement in the care of our local bushland through either volunteer work or voluntary financial contribution.
Why should I do this?
Quite simply, to safeguard and protect one of our municipality’s greatest assets - our natural bushland. Whether we use it for bushwalking, wildlife monitoring or environmental education, it is a living and unique asset that as a community, we must work together to protect.
How can I assist?
Residents can take part in this program in two ways. Firstly, to volunteer time and assist in bushcare programs including weed control, native tree planting and bush regeneration, litter removal and soil conservation. Secondly, for residents who may find it difficult to undertake volunteer work due to time constraints or physical capacity, a financial contribution can be made to a special ‘bushcare fund’ that will greatly assist the work of the volunteers. This voluntary contribution can be made when paying Council rates.
How will Council use the funds?
Funds from this voluntary contribution will be used to accelerate existing and future bushcare programs and it is not a substitute for existing Council funded programs. Donations will help fund volunteer training, plants, tools and equipment and will also be used to enhance local environmental awareness issues and educational activities, particularly for children and community groups.
How do I make my contribution to the fund?
Contributions may be made either on-line via Council's secure payment portal or by downloading a payment form:-
