Local Traffic Committee (LTC)
The Local Traffic Committee is an external committee auspiced by the Roads & Maritime Services (RMS). The operations and membership of the Traffic Committee are guided by state legislation. The Committee is primarily a technical review committee. It advises the Council on traffic control matters that have been referred to the local council. These matters must be related to prescribed traffic control devices or traffic control facilities for which Council has delegated authority.

Council in consultation with the formal membership of the Committee may receive advice from additional people including Council's Road Safety Officer, Traffic Manager, NSW Minister of Transport Representative, NSW Fire Brigade Representative, NSW Ambulance Representative, Transport Workers Union Representative and Chamber of Commerce Representative. These representatives do not have voting rights and can only provide advice to the Committee on items nominated by the Chair/Committee.
The formal membership of this Committee comprises of four (4) voting delegates being:
- One representative of Manly Council*;
- One representatives of the NSW Police Force;
- One representative of the RMS; and
- One representative of the local State Member for Manly (or their nominee).
*Please note Council's representative may be a Councillor (usually the Chair of the LTC) or, a Council Officer.
